Allison Strang, Secretary
Born and raised in a small town in the Pottawatomie region of Indiana, Allison moved to
Bloomington twelve years ago to study at IU. She writes, "Bloomington has a little bit of a lot
of things that I like and I can be a day’s drive from my family, so I stay here." Before joining the board, she helped organize the 2010
Native Film Series. Her goals for working with the NACC are to help to create a space for cultural survival and cultural connection.
Allison adds, "I would name this chapter of my life: 'do whatever makes life a joy worth living.'
Because there’s so much suffering in the world already, I want to stick to the stuff that
makes myself and other people smile."
